The Adelphi Community Fellows Program offers competitive, paid summer internships to 60 undergraduate students, in any major, who might not otherwise be able to participate in an unpaid internship opportunity to gain valuable experience in the nonprofit sector.
Who is eligible to apply and what are the selection criteria?
Current Adelphi University sophomores and juniors who have completed at least 45 credits
Minimum G.P.A. 3.0
Have a record of volunteer and/or community service and/or previous internship experience
Secure the recommendation of at least one Adelphi University professor
Follow the application instructions in the Community Fellows Program folder located in PantherZone’s Resource Library. Students will need to activate their application and upload an essay, their resume, and submit letters of recommendations.
Students enrolled in or who have successfully completed the 1-credit Internship Preparation Seminar (0137-299, offered every fall and spring semester) will be automatically qualified for the program (they will still need to follow the required application procedures).
Agree to work and be available to work at a selected nonprofit for a minimum 30 hours/week for 10 weeks during June–August.
Serve as a campus ambassador for the program when asked.
