Student Services S.W.A.T. Jobs

All Adelphi University students, regardless of financial aid status—and including international students—can participate in a short-term employment program known as S.W.A.T. (Student Worker Action Teams).  S.W.A.T. jobs are typically short duration jobs lasting anywhere from 1 hour to up to 10-15 hours per job per week.

How to Apply
S.W.A.T. jobs are not posted in PantherZone like regular on-campus jobs, but students must still register for S.W.A.T. via their PantherZone student account:

  1. If you have an existing account in PantherZone, edit your Account Profile and check the S.W.A.T.? Yes/No box located there.
  2. If you do not have a PantherZone account, click here to register for PantherZone and make sure to check "Yes" when you come to the S.W.A.T.? Yes/No box.
Emails are sent out to registered students’ Adelphi email addresses on or after 3:30 p.m. every day on the days S.W.A.T. job requests are received.  Sign-ups for S.W.A.T. jobs are done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Complete Student Payroll Enrollment
While you do not have to fill out a Student Employment Application to compete for S.W.A.T. jobs, you must have all necessary paperwork filed with the University’s Department of Human Resources, located on the second floor of Levermore Hall.  Students who have not finished filling out and filing the proper paperwork with HR will only see long delays in receiving their paychecks once their S.W.A.T. job is over.  This includes having a Social Security card (number)!  International students should speak with Wendy Badala in the Office of International Student Services with any questions regarding obtaining a Social Security card.

You must return all completed and signed applications and forms to Human Resources (Levermore Hall, 2nd Floor). If this is the first time you are working for Adelphi University, you must bring documentation for work authorization to HR for processing. Any student who has previously been hired by the University ("rehire") will already have work authorization on file. Please review the list of acceptable documents required to complete the hiring process.

*Please note: The student must not start employment and cannot be paid until all documentation is completed. The University is subject to fines and penalties if these forms are not completed prior to date of hire.

It is highly advised that you sign-up for direct deposit so that paychecks can be sent directly to your preferred bank checking account, thus avoiding delays and trips to the Career Center to pick up your paycheck.
