The editorial has always been the majority opinion of the Editorial Board, but on this last issue of Fall 2000, it will be my personal farewell.
When I arrived at Adelphi in Fall of 1997 there was no Delphian. Together with a staff of dedicated students and an adviser, Linda Carlson, the Delphian was brought back in my sophomore year. Also, throughout my four years a journalism program began with our wonderful adviser, Professor Fischkin. I have learned how important journalism is on a college campus. The Delphian has given the students a voice, and it has taught its staff how gratifying it is to go after a story and make a change on campus. It is heartbreaking to leave this group that has become like a family, but I know that the Delphian will remain strong for many years to come.
This semester I have the privilege to say that I have worked with the most dedicated people I have ever met. I would like to thank my staff and tell them that as long as you continue to work hard and be the people that you are today you will go far in life, and it is an honor to say that I have worked with you.
To my adviser, Professor Fischkin, all I can say is THANK YOU. You have not only advised me in the Delphian, but you have also advised me in important decisions. You have directed me in the right path in life. Most importantly, you have always been there to listen and help me solve problems about the Delphian and my life. You are a wonderful role model. The people who do not get to know you in this life are missing out a great deal. I hope that when I am older I will be able to be as strong and driven as you are.
Finally, to my two saving graces, Mark and Tom. The two of you have helped me through this semester. Moving the issue from monthly to bimonthly was a big step, but we did it, together. Of course I yelled and whined, but you know that that was simply out of love (and just a little frustration). Mark, I will miss your life issues, but I think those are all figured out. Tom, I will miss our lovely bantering back and forth on way too many issues; hey who said a left-wing and right-wing couldn't be friends. I will miss you two always, and I know that the Delphian will be left in the right hands with you.
My sappy editorial is now at its end. I would like to thank all of the readers of the Delphian for all of your support. It has been a memory that will never be forgotten, but I must graduate, just as all things must come to an end.--
