Featured Club: Amnesty International

by Robert Meekins

Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. AI's vision is a world where every person enjoys all the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, including the freedoms of conscience, religion, expression, and...even LEISURE.

Adelphi's Amnesty Chapter promotes these goals by organizing student forums, sponsoring discussions about cultural and current affairs issues, and otherwise working to expand student awareness. In addition, our proximity to the AI regional headquarters in New York City provides ample opportunities for our members to participate in protests and other events in the City and throughout the Northeast.

You can join us at one of our weekly Monday meetings in UC 216 or contact Rob Meekins at RJMeekz@hotmail.com. Please also feel free to come to our upcoming panel discussion "Human Rights in the Arab-Israeli Conflict" on Nov. 17 in the UC.
