Letter to the Editor
"Magnum Opus"

To the Editors:

I would like to address the recent talk that the Magnum Opus as a whole are "liars" due to the lack of a bar after we had advertised that we would have one at our events. This situation arose due to a lack of communication between departments at this school. After attending 30 day meetings and going through all necessary protocol, we had arranged to have a bar at both the Masquerade Ball and the KaffeKlatsch.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of our control, the bar was canceled. In the case of the KaffeKlatsch, Operations allowed their bartenders to go for the day even though they had paperwork saying that they would be needed at our event. Also, Public Safety didn't even know we were supposed to be in the building. I understand how this situation was upsetting to quite a few people and because of a lack of an advertised bar, they chose not to attend the event. However, be assured that we were not lying to try to garner better attendance. We are in the process of trying to gain an apology from both parties involved and are working to ensure that it does not happen again.

I greatly hope that these unfortunate incidents do not tarnish the reputation of the Magnum Opus and that the Adelphi community continues to show us the amazing support that they constantly have in the past.
