Getting Started at AU

Orientation Information

The Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Student Involvement coordinate Orientation programs to introduce incoming freshman, transfer, and international students, and parents to Adelphi.

The Orientation programs are designed to help students:

  • prepare for academic life at Adelphi University
  • make new friends
  • explore the campus and its resources
  • learn about activities and campus life
  • learn about relevant policies and regulations
  • become comfortable with the transition into Adelphi University
  • familiarize themselves (and their families) with the University experience

Freshman Orientation is a two-night, three-day program for new students to give you the opportunity to learn about Adelphi services, register for classes, and meet fellow classmates.

Transfer Transition gives transferring students an opportunity to meet other students and learn about Adelphi. You will have a chance to meet an academic adviser and register for classes.

International Student Orientation is an essential part of your Adelphi experience and a requirement from the Office of International Student Services.

Parent Orientation welcomes parents to Adelphi, provides an overview of services and resources available to the students, and encourages you to help students adjust to college life. (Only for fall entrants.)
