Getting Started at AU

Orientation

The Center for Student Involvement plans three Orientation programs to introduce incoming freshmen, transfer students, and parents to Adelphi.

The Orientation programs are designed to help students:

  • prepare for academic life at Adelphi University
  • make new friends
  • explore the campus and its resources
  • learn about activities and campus life
  • learn about relevant policies and regulations
  • become comfortable with the tradition into Adelphi University
  • familiarize themselves (and their families) with the University experience

The Freshman and Transfer Orientation programs are mandatory, and are led by trained Orientation Leaders (OLs).

Freshman Orientation is a one-day program for commuters and residents, entering in the spring, to find out all that Adelphi has to offer.

Parent Orientation welcomes parents to Adelphi and encourages them to help students adjust to college life. (only for fall entrants)

Transfer Orientation gives transferring students an opportunity to meet other students and learn about Adelphi before they start classes. A one-day program for students entering in the spring.

International Student Orientation is an essential part of your Adelphi experience and a requirement from the Office of International Student Services. A one-day program for students entering in the spring.
