Getting Started at AU

Information for International Students Transfer Initiatives

As a transfer student, you are encouraged to get involved in campus life, as involvement helps you transition to your new institution. Adelphi offers many ways to get involved, including:

  • Student Organizations
  • Greek Life
  • Volunteer Services
  • Transfer Tuesday Events
  • Tau Sigma, National Transfer Honor Society
  • Campus Recreation
  • On-Campus Employment
  • Study Abroad

Also, to help you transition as you continue your academic journey at Adelphi, you are invited to attend the Transfer Meet & Greet, which is held the first Tuesday night of the Fall semester. This provides an opportunity to meet and network with new and current Adelphi University transfer students. Find out everything you want to know about the transfer transition, and what resources are available. Pizza and refreshments are provided.

Transfer Tuesdays are held the first Tuesday of every month. These workshops are either academic (which take place during the day), or social events (which take place during the evening).

Some of the previous Transfer Tuesday events included:

  • How to Study Abroad After You’ve Transferred
  • Transfer Social
  • Transfer Student Focus Groups
  • Transfer Winter Welcome Event
  • Tau Sigma, National Transfer Honor Society Informational Meetings
  • Dodgeball Tournaments
  • Transfer Student Round Table Discussions
  • Internships / Career Development Informational
  • Greek Life Informational
