The primary mission of Adelphi University is the development of an intellectual community in an environment that promotes high standards of integrity and fosters respect for all members. In order to maintain that environment, the University developed a Code of Conduct for both individuals and organizations, setting standards necessary to protect the well-being of the community and advance the University's educational mission. Students are also expected to abide by the Compliance Statement.
Student Conduct and Community Standards was established to respond to potential allegations of non-academic violations of the behavioral standards and other University regulations while respecting and protecting the rights and privileges of Adelphi students.
The educational foundation upon which the judicial process is based is intended to promote responsible conduct by holding students accountable for their behavior and its impact on the campus community. Judicial responses to findings of misconduct are intended to be education, providing students with vehicles for growth and development and, whenever possible, allowing for responsible membership in the University community.
