The Office of Commuter Student Affairs represents the interests of commuter students. It provides extensive services for students who live off-campus but who need assistance with non-academic matters relating to the University and campus life. Its A to Z Guide is a useful handbook for quick information and answers to common questions.
The Office's wide range of services includes:
- personalized transportation planning
- public transit timetables and maps
- shuttle service to and from bus and rail stations
- telephone numbers for local taxis/limos
- on-campus parking
- on-campus assistance with minor car repairs, such as a dead battery or lock-out
- commuter meal plans
- lockers
- off-campus housing information and listings (To view, log on to
eCampus) - guide to area hotels and motels
- umbrella-lending service.
The Office's services are available to all students, including the Emergency Closing Hotline (516.877.6870). In the event of inclement weather, commuters are encouraged to call the hotline to obtain information regarding delays or closings:
Commuter Lounge
Students are encouraged to visit the Commuter Lounge, located on the lower level of the University Center.
Commuter Senators
The Student Government Association elects Commuter Senators to represent commuter interests. For more information, contact:
