Founded at the University of Alabama in 1926, Alpha Epsilon Delta is a health pre-professional honor society whose purpose is to:
  • encourage and recognize excellence in premedical scholarship
  • stimulate an appreciation of the importance of premedical education
  • promote contact among medical and premedical students and educators in developing an appropriate program of premedical education
  • use its knowledge for the benefit of health organizations, charities, and the community.

Alpha Epsilon Delta is an affiliated society of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. The group sponsors guest speakers from the health professions and health professional schools and promotes education about health issues.
