Student Organizations| Resident Student Association

The Resident Student Association (RSA) represents the interests of all resident students and strives to enhance residential life. It consists of an Executive Board and Hall Councils.

The Executive Board works closely with the Office of Residential Life and Housing to communicate the needs of residential students to the University. It also organizes educational, social, and community activities open to all students.

Each residence hall has a Hall Council which governs its activities and plans hall events. The council is composed of a president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, events chair, and individual floor representatives.

National Residence Hall Honorary

The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a service of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), Inc. It is designed to give local, regional and national recognition to students making outstanding contributions to their residence halls. NACURH firmly believes in the value of student involvement in residence life through community service, diversity, social, and educational programming.

NRHH was established to give recognition to outstanding student leaders within the residence hall systems on their campuses, in their regions, and nationally. Realizing the value of participation, students have contributed vast amounts of their personal time in an effort to make their own college experiences more meaningful to them. NRHH exists to honor these students. These people work hard, and all too often go unnoticed without even so much as a thank you. Correcting this through recognition is the fundamental purpose of an NRHH Chapter. This effort not only benefits them but the entire residence hall system at their home institution, as well.

NRHH is the only nationwide organization that recognizes residence hall leaders. Membership in local chapters is limited to one percent of your school's residence hall population, or 20 members, whichever is greater. As you can see, NRHH is composed of a very select group of leaders. Thus being selected into the membership is an honor in which one can take a great amount of pride.

Each chapter is charged with recognizing residence hall leaders through awards. These awards are known as "Of the Months" (OTM's) for many categories including; Program of the Month, Student of the Month, Resident Assistant (RA) of the Month, and Spotlight of the Month, just to name a few.

The Adelphi Chapter of NRHH is funded by the RSA, and the two organizations work together to co-sponser events and activities in the residence halls and elsewhere on campus.
