Q: Will someone be in Health Services after my late class or on the weekend?
A: Yes, registered nurses staff the Health Services Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week, during the fall and spring semesters. In the summer and when classes are not in session, the Health Services Center is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Q: If I am injured or too sick to come to the Health Services Center, how do I get assistance?
A: If you are on the Garden City campus, dial 5 to call Public Safety or ask someone to call for you. A Public Safety officer will bring a nurse to you.

Q: How many doctors are in the Health Services Center?
A: There are two University Physicians located off-campus. Students who have the Adelphi University Student Accident and Health Insurance policy are sent to these doctors.

Q: Who is eligible to purchase the Adelphi University Student Accident and Health Insurance policy?
A: Any Adelphi University student who is currently registered may purchase the Adelphi University Student Accident and Health Insurance policy.

Q: Are there any deadlines for the purchase of this insurance?
A: Yes. For the fall semester, the insurance must be purchased by October 1. For the spring semester, the insurance must be purchased by March 1.

Q: Will this insurance cover all my medical bills?
A: No. This is a limited policy for sickness and accident only. It is important to read the brochure (PDF 138KB) to understand the coverage limitations.

Q: Will the Health Services Center give me a note for my professor?
A: No. All notes must come from a doctor.
