Health Insurance Information |
All residential and international students must have health insurance. These students will automatically be enrolled on the school accident/sickness plan when they register. You may waive the school's insurance if you provide comparable proof of coverage. Please go to maksin.com/adelphi.aspx to review documentation related to waiving the insurance.
Please note: This is an application for waiver it does not guarantee the waiver. The insurance company must verify your coverage before any fees are waived, the process takes approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.
The waiver period begins after July 1 for the fall semester and after January 1 for the spring semester.
Deadlines
- October 15 for the fall semester
- March 15 for the spring semester (only new students may waive during this period).
If you are a commuter student who wishes to enroll in the school insurance plan, please go to maksin.com/adelphi.aspx for information on how to do this.
Please note: Residential/International students—if you do not complete the online waiver by the deadlines as listed above you will automatically be enrolled in the Student Accident & Sickness Insurance Plan and be charged the annual premium:
- Fall — $415(coverage effective August 15–August 15 of the following year)
- Spring — $278 (coverage effective January 1–August 15; available only to new students)
Limited Benefits Health Insurance
The insurance offered provides only limited benefits health insurance. It does not provide basic hospital, basic medical, or major medical insurance as defined by the New York State Insurance Department.
