Current students should refer to the schedule of important dates for the Room Selection Process for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Room Selection Process 2007-08

The Office of Residential Life and Housing has set the policies and deadlines for the room selection process for the 2008-09 academic year. Students must first go to the Housing Application located on eCampus under the Services tab to complete the University's Residence Hall Agreement 2008-09.

Upon completion of the online application, deposit payment will be verified by Residential Life.

As in the past, only current residents and those former residents away on study abroad may participate in room selection. All participants are responsible for filling the room they select. For example, you need one roommate to fill a double or two roommates to fill a triple. Please note that if you choose a converted triple room and one of your selected roommates does not return in the fall, you will be reassigned another roommate, as with any other room, over the summer.

Single rooms, accessible rooms, and rooms designated fro first year students will not be available during the room selection process.  If you are a student who requires an accessible accommodation, you must get your status affirmed by the Office of Disability Support Services prior to room selection so that you may be placed into a room that supports your accommodation request.  To be placed on a waiting list for a double room in New Hall or a single room on campus, please contact your RHD or email housing@adelphi.edu.

Once the application is completed, you will be able to select your roommate(s) from March 1 until April 9 using My Housing on the eCampus services tab. To introduce you to potential roommates, the Office of Residential Life and Housing will host two Roommate Socials in New Hall on the evenings of March 25 at 8 PM and March 26 at 9 PM. In addition, the staff will assist you as best as possible in locating a roommate.

Room selection occurs in three stages on My Housing. Please note that all selections are final.

  • The "Squatting" stage is for students who wish to remain in their current room.
  • The "Displaced" stage is for students not eligible to return to their current room or living in a room designated as a converted triple for the upcoming year. During this stage, they will be given preference to select any other available room on campus.
  • The final stage, "General Lottery," provides an opportunity for all other students to select a room.
