Starting February 2, 2009
Meditation Group for Anxiety and Stress Management
Mondays, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Interfaith Chapel
University Center, Room 306
Jeffrey L. Chilton, MA, LMHC

This open, ongoing group will teach students to practice Shamata and Vipassana (one pointed concentration and insight meditation) from the Buddhist tradition that Western health professionals are increasingly recognizing for their unique ability to quell disturbing thoughts and afflictive emotions. Traditionally, concentration is taught to calm the mind while insight is employed to uproot dysfunctional patterns. Students will also be guided toward building a successful meditation practice.
