Leadership Certificate Program: Improvisation & Comedy for Leadership Skills

Because Adelphi University has transitioned to online learning for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester, we are now offering Leadership Certificate Program workshops online via Zoom! Click the link below five minutes prior to the start of the workshop to join. Your screen and microphone will be muted and a chat feature for discussions will be available. Some workshops will be recorded and available for viewing after the scheduled event.

A foundational course in improvisation will provide students with a toolkit to build their confidence in becoming a more effective communicator, storyteller, leader, and public speaker. We will work to sharpen skills to promote creativity, innovation, and collaboration through interactive and engaging theatrical activities that stimulate the ability to think on our feet and tap into our comedic instincts. A one hour course will provide introductory tips and tricks on how to translate the basic rules of improvisation to practical skills we use in our everyday lives. The activities performed in this course will go far beyond the classroom!

About the Presenter

Jessica Saul HeadshotJessica Saul is a NYC based actress, comedian, and teaching artist originally from South Florida. Upon graduating Florida State University with a BA in Theatre and Media Communications, she immediately moved to the Big Apple, (only to discover it is very different from the movies). Her comedy has been featured at the Women in Comedy Festival in Boston, Burbank Comedy Festival (Voted best of the Fest), as well as numerous clubs and venues throughout New York City including New York Comedy Club, The Comic Strip Live, The Duplex, Broadway Comedy Club, Standup NY, and The Stand. Jessica is a teacher and mentor for EPIC Players, a neuro-inclusive theatre company dedicated to creating professional performing arts opportunities and supportive social communities through the arts for persons living with developmental disabilities.
