The Center for Student Involvement is the hub for volunteer services. Get involved in campus life, meet new friends, feel part of the Adelphi community – the Division of Student Affairs is here to help. Under the Division, the Center for Student Involvement manages involvement through an online program which provides information about the clubs, organizations and activities. Resident student? There are various ways to get involved in your hall. The Office of Residential Life and Housing can assist you with involvement opportunities. Want to broaden your connection to your academic major? There are more than 25 Honor Societies available here at Adelphi.

Leadership Opportunities

Adelphi University encourages the development of strong and ethical campus leaders. The Division of Student Affairs provides opportunities to become this type of leader. Mentoring/Tutoring Opportunities

If your interest includes becoming a mentor or tutor, there are many opportunities at Adelphi to serve in this role. Positions such as Orientation and Peer Assistant Leaders, are offered through the Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Student Involvement. Health Services also offers Peer Educator positions. America Reads/America Counts, off campus tutoring positions, are organized through the Center for Career and Professional Development.

Intramural Sports / Recreation

If your interests include working out or playing intramural sports, Campus Recreation has many opportunities available. Play an instrument or recite poetry? Share your talents at one of the Coffee House events, or other campus activities organized by the Center for Student Involvement. Cat Cup Challenge, a collaborative effort between Residential Life and Campus Recreation, gives students a chance to play and compete in friendly sporting events and campus activities. Commuter students are also welcome to join teams.

Campus Employment

If you are interested in a job on campus around your class schedule, there are many opportunities to work in various departments and centers. It’s a great way to earn some extra cash, meet University administrators, fellow students and learn more about Adelphi University. The Center for Career and Professional Development posts campus employment opportunities on Handshake. In addition, positions for resident students are available through Residential Life and Housing. There are also designated short term paid mentoring positions available through the Division of Student Affairs and Center for Student Involvement.
